Introduction:

Year: 1898, Scientist: ‘BEIJERINK’ ,he was the first who discovered the term virus. He studied in tabacoo mosaic virus which infected the field of tabacoo so , that the tabacoo mosaic virus is considered as first virus.

Definition:

A simplest definition of virus is that it is an obligate parasite a protein capsid or genetic material in the form of either DNA or RNA that may cause diseases.

Virus is also called as “VIRION”.

Structure:

VIRION or virus consists of molecule of nucleic acid surrounded by protein coat, the capsid.

Raising Questions:

Q1: How old are viruses?

Ans: They existed 3.5 billion years before humans evolved on earth.

Q2: How many viruses are excited on earth?

Ans: The number of viruses are more than number of stars in universe.

Q3: How many viruses live in human?

Ans: There could be over 320,000.

Function of viruses:

Virus is an infectious agent that may replicate in human body and causes different diseases in humans , plants and animals.

Smallest virus:  ” ADENOVIRUS”

First virus: Tabacoo mosaic virus which at the end of 19th century became first virus.

Virus makes us sick by killing cells of body or disrupting cell’s function.

Various Viral diseases:

Some human viruses include human ADENOVIRUS, common cold , influenza, pox virus, coronavirus.

Corona virus: The whole world is infected by COVID-19. It is caused by SARS-COV-2  virus. It is very dangerous virus and it spreads very quickly. To fight with coronavirus strong immunity is necessary.In this virus symptoms are shown in some persons some are Asymptomatic.

Symptoms of COVID-19 are viral flu, fever , pain in body also taste buds cannot work.

Can we stop spreading of viruses?

Yes, strong immunity may kill viruses. Also the intake of nutrients and vitamins makes person to survive with viral disease. Vitamin D intake may also boost up immunity. Some minerals such as zinc, potassium, polyphenols, probiotics helps person to fight with virus.
